The Pinnacle of Ben Nevis. |
Here he is; my Mate Big John! |
{what? The Brandy} purely medicinal.! of course. I guarantee that you will visit this establishment; just for somewhere to sit for a while, just to take the weight off you weary and tired little legs. It's true when I tell you everyone that we saw on the mountain; either going up or coming down did without fail, visit this Pub. You won't be able to resist it, mark my words!
Now; This bloke above, right;
has become a good friend of mine over the last four years purely through our walking trips .And it was his idea that we should walk the Great Glenn Way, after we finished on Ben Nevis,,,!!! Mick, just like John, and myself all have a quiet dependable, sensibility about us and we all know that we can rely on each other if necessary, should we suffer any misshaps on any of our walks.
This bloke on the left; he is the one doing all this "Blogging" as you can see, the smallest of the three of us; and by far the best looking, don't you agree...!!! As you can see, the picture shows just how rocky the ground is up here. And in the background the ruins of the old weather station that used to stand here some years ago. {I got to tell you it's like another planet up here!} If you are wondering why we are all togged up in our winter warmest, well, know I told you in a previous post the date is Saturday, June 26th 2010. The weather downstairs is 20 degrees Celsius, in old money 72 degree's Fahrenheit "Yeah" well up here it's below freezing, mind you we have climbed over; 4,000ft. and every few minutes the cloud cover comes down and plunges us into semi-dark for several minutes, this can be a little "whoooo - eerie and somewhat spooky". Although there were loads of people on the top at the same as time as us, the feeling of being alone, and so insignifficant along side Mother Nature; was a little overwhelming.
